The fine art of sculpting
In bygone days a ship was almost human in the eyes of her crew and owner.
Both the name given and the figurehead at the bow personified each ship´s character.
Centuries of tradition lay behind the seaman’s feeling of superstition and awe for the figurehead.
All nations placed carved images of their gods on galleys to placate those gods.
During the centuries the lavish carvings that ornamented ship’s bore witness to the wealth and strength of the nations that launched them.
Since 1994 Hartmann-Sculptures founded and developed this special art field and has created a vast number of finest sculptures afloat, shaping the future of some luxury yachts with our mixture of innovative craftsmanship and a reliance on treasured carving tradition.
Hartmann-Sculptures is renowned for its serious artistic dedication and its responsiveness to clients wishes in order to produce the finest and most individualized art on yachts today.
From classic design to surrealistic works, we create unique pieces of art, completed to your specifications in high polished stainless steel, bronze and finest woods.
The result is a work of unprecedented elegance to adorn your sophisticated yacht – and a classic investment which will retain its value for years to come.
It’s not only about outdoing yourself. It’s about doing something really spectacular as well.
There is a sense of pride associated with seeing your vision materialize, and we like to offer this experience to you.
